Medellín City Tour
Botero Plaza, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Pueblito Paisa lookout — private, at your own pace.
Medellín sits in a valley between mountains, so almost any height gives you a view. These are the viewpoints that are really worth the climb, and the time of day each one looks best.

The classic viewpoint: a replica Antioquian village on top of a hill in the middle of the city, with a 360° view over the Aburrá Valley. Late in the afternoon you watch the city light up. It is the last stop of the Medellín City Tour (USD $110 per vehicle, up to 4 people); book it for the afternoon and you arrive right on time.
Riding up the escalators, Comuna 13 opens into terraces with the valley behind, among murals and street artists. Morning light is best, before 11, and it is less crowded. It is done on the private Comuna 13 tour (USD $110 per vehicle, up to 4 people).
The Metrocable is not a fixed viewpoint but a moving one: the cabin climbs over the hillside neighbourhoods and the city falls away below. Line K is included in the metro fare; line L, which crosses the forest to Arví, is paid separately. We explain it in Parque Arví and the Metrocable.
San Félix sits at 2,800 metres above sea level, on the mountain facing the valley. It is where the paragliders take off, and the paragliding package ends with a stop at the viewpoint and a tasting of pan de chocha with hot chocolate (from USD $190 (1 person, transfer and flight included)). Bring a light jacket: it gets cooler up there.
After 740 steps, the top of El Peñol looks over a maze of green water and islands to the horizon. On the road to Guatapé there is also the Alto del Chocho viewpoint. It is all on the Guatapé tour; we explain the climb in Piedra del Peñol tickets and climb.
