Private tours in Medellín for groups and families

Travelling as a group or with children changes the rules: the timetable of a shared tour weighs more, luggage takes space and someone always needs a stop. That is why almost all our tours are priced per vehicle, not per person.

In short

  • The price is per vehicle, up to 4 people: one of you or four, it costs the same.
  • If you are more than 4, we arrange a second vehicle with its own driver and send you the price on WhatsApp.
  • Baby seats if you tell us when booking how many children are travelling and their ages.
  • The family day out: Hacienda Nápoles (USD $366 per vehicle, up to 4 people).

Why private works better for groups

On a shared tour you pay per seat and follow strangers' timetable. On a private one you pay for the car and the driver, and your group sets the day: when you leave, how long you stay at each stop and when you head back. With three or four people, private usually costs the same or less than paying for individual seats. We run the numbers in how much a Medellín tour costs.

Groups of more than 4

The car, a Renault Sandero, comfortably carries 4 passengers. For larger groups we arrange a second vehicle with its own driver, and both cars follow the same route. The two-vehicle price is not published because it depends on the tour and the date: message us with your numbers and we will confirm it.

Which tour for which age

  • Young children: Hacienda Nápoles (zoo, hippos and water park) and, in December and January, the Christmas lights tour, seen from the car with short stops.
  • From about 7 or 8: Guatapé (the rock with breaks; anyone who does not climb waits by the waterfront) and Comuna 13, which is two hours on foot with escalators.
  • The whole family: the Coffee Experience, where children pick coffee and eat lunch off a banana leaf (USD $52 per person, transport not included).
  • Teenagers and adults: the Pablo Escobar History Tour, which we recommend from age 15 because of its content.

Logistics that save trouble

Leave early and be back before the mid-afternoon slump, leave jackets and shopping in the car, and stop whenever someone needs to. With grandparents in the group, see also Medellín with seniors.

If you fly in, the private airport transfer (USD $55 per vehicle, up to 4 people) takes the group and its luggage straight to the hotel.
